Talking about Emily never gets any easier, everytime I think of her, I think of the beautiful little girl I held in my arms for those few precious hours. Its fair to say that you can't help but have those moments of what might have been had she made it through labour, equally after 3 months you start to question when will you start to feel normal or be able to think of her without the heartache attached...some say never.
Whatever the future holds, there is one thing for sure; Emily has inspired more people in her short time with us, than I think many of us can lay claim to! I would never have imagined that in 3 months, Michelle and I would have been involved in something that has over 4000 people following on facebook and that has raised a little under £10,000 in seven weeks!
Since the promotion at the Nottingham Forest match at the weekend, the pace of things happening for Forever Stars has been nothing short of frantic, today we finally launched our partnership with Official Giving, they are an online special offers website that gives a cut of everything they sell to Forever Stars and many other charities, it takes us to a new level as a charity so we're really excited to see where this leads us. (please feel free to register at www.originalgiving.com/foreverstars)
We have also now announced the date of the Forever Stars Gala Dinner at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Shelley Garden at the De Vere team at the University of Nottingham have been fantastic support and really helped us prepare the foundations for what we hope will be an amazing night, that will raise lots of money for the cause!
The application for the Charity Commission has been with them nearly two weeks, we're keeping everything crossed that they don't find a reason not to grant us charitable status - please keep your fingers crossed for us, we'll let you know when we find out!
Emily, you may not have taken your first steps, had a first day at school, made me father of the bride or enjoyed the love of a family of your own BUT you have inspired more in 3 months that most will do in a lifetime, I'm so proud to be your Daddy xx
