The Daily Mail article had an amazing affect on Forever Stars, with increased followers, lots of donations and of course lots of people sharing their own tragic stories with us, Michelle and I read everyone and replied to as many as possible. The recurring theme of parents with child loss being put alongside parents enjoying their new arrival, simply shocks me and its not just in the UK, its across the globe - I just wish Forever Stars could help them all.
Those of you that are eagle eyed, will have noticed quite a substantial change in our fundraising target, this is since Michelle has had the opportunity to see and discuss some of the spaces that are currently in operation, if we're going to make sure all or as many boxes are ticked, we need approx £50k rather than the original £25k that we had originally set, its going to be tough but with so many amazing people helping and supporting us - we'll do it, I know we will!
Lots of messages have been coming through asking how we are as a family and making sure that we make time for each other, in fairness since our holiday things have got better - it's amazing what a break can do! Finlay our little boy, is still finding it difficult to understand why he hasn't got his little sister and to be honest we still struggle with a reason, so why should a 5 year old?? We are looking at getting some support to help him plus we've just added two baby rabbits to the Daniels clan, and he is looking after them beautifully...at the moment!!
Michelle and I are getting emotionally stronger each day, obviously we still have those dark moments, particularly when we take time at the grave, that feeling of not wanting to let go of Emily will never leave me nor will the total sense of loss. We still haven't finished emptying the nursery, it's happening but at a pace that doesn't go and break our hearts again and over the next few weeks we'll have finalised arrangements for Emily's headstone. Thanks to everyone who has asked, it's lovely that so many people care :) x
We'll I'm going to sign off again, we've got a football match to arrange at the City Ground on May 16th, please feel free to come and join us from 1pm to see some great guys 'pay to play' in order to raise money for Forever Stars or if you can't make that, Michelle and I will be at Nottingham Greyhound Racing in the evening of 16th May raising money for Forever Stars - £4 per ticket if bought in advance - wow I'm turning into a salesman!!
