Michelle and I have done things that are so far out of our comfort zone, that if someone had told us we were doing them, we'd have looked at them very strangely!
When we initially started out with our 'plans' to launch Forever Stars, it was going to be a vehicle for those people who wanted to donate rather than send flowers to Emily's funeral and then give Michelle and I a way of doing something positive to both deal with the loss of Emily and try to ensure that her time with us wasn't wasted.
Over the last two weeks we have received approx 400 messages from people who have experienced the same tragic loss and circumstances that Michelle and I found ourselves in. It is these online exchanges with people that has proved to us, how important it is for a bereavement suite to be set up at the QMC and all hospitals that care for people that have had a stillborn baby or similar loss.
Whilst we are far from organised, we are trying to follow up the people who have offered to carry out sponsored activities, offers of help and offers of donations both cash and gifts for raffles/auctions.
As we progress, we intend on using the facebook page for auction updates and event information. Hopefully this page will become the focus of our PR activity and regular updates of our supporters etc.
No doubt throughout the time of our fundraising Michelle and I will meet some major personal hurdles and as the feelings flow, so will the blogs. Please feel free to comment and contribute.
Thanks for your support x
