Help us protect and refresh Nottingham’s Serenity Suites
“Without the Serenity Suite at QMC, we wouldn’t have had the precious time with Noah to make up for a lifetime of missed moments and milestones. Our time with Noah would have been even less without it. We are so, so grateful to have had that time.”
These are the words of Rebecca and Daniel, whose son Noah was stillborn in 2019.
Rebecca and Daniel are one of more than 2,600 families who have been given precious time with their baby in Nottingham’s Serenity Suites created by Forever Stars for families facing the unimaginable.

Our 2026 campaign
In 2026, we mark ten years since the first Serenity Suite opened at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and we are launching our ‘Decade of Serenity’ campaign to ensure these vital spaces continue to support families for years to come.
Our goal is to raise £50,000 to refurbish and refresh the QMC Serenity Suite, protecting this special space for future families.

Why the Serenity Suites matter
When parents lose a baby, time becomes incredibly precious.
The Serenity Suites provide a calm, respectful environment away from the busy maternity wards, where families can:
- Spend uninterrupted time with their baby
- Hold them, talk to them, and create memories
- Invite loved ones to meet their baby
- Begin to process their grief in privacy and peace
These moments can never replace what has been lost, but they can make an unbearable situation just a little more bearable.
Rebecca explains:
“Whilst we were there we got to enjoy endless cuddles, talk to him, sing to him, read to him, and just be together. These are small, simple things you expect to do with your baby, but these precious moments have to make up a lifetime of missed milestones. Without the Suite, we simply would not have had that time.”
From one family’s loss to a lasting legacy
Forever Stars was founded in 2014 by Richard and Michelle Daniels after the stillbirth of their daughter Emily.
They wanted to ensure other families would have something they didn’t – a dedicated space to say hello and goodbye.
Thanks to incredible support, Forever Stars:
- Raised £180,000 to open the QMC Serenity Suite in April 2016
- Raised a further £100,000 to open a second Serenity Suite at Nottingham City Hospital in December 2017
- Has now raised more than £900,000 to support bereaved families across Nottinghamshire
Richard says:
“The Serenity Suites offer more than just a room. They provide a peaceful environment where families can spend precious time with their baby and create memories that will last a lifetime.
To know that, because of Forever Stars, other families now have that choice and that space means more to us than words can express. It is Emily’s legacy.”
