Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW) takes place from 9th–15th October 2026. Each year, the week brings people together to raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, and highlight the support available to families.

For Forever Stars, Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important opportunity to stand alongside bereaved families, raise awareness of the many different experiences of pregnancy and baby loss, and help more people understand where support can be found.

Throughout the week, Forever Stars will be holding a variety of events to bring our community together, raise awareness and help us continue supporting families.

• Friday 9th October – Pink & Blue Day & 26-mile fundraising walk
• Sunday 11th October – John Pye Charity Football Match
• Tuesday 13th October – Quiz Night
• Thursday 15th October – Wave of Light – light a candle at 7pm

Supporting Baby Loss Awareness Week

We would love as many people, businesses and community groups as possible to get involved with BLAW. This might be taking part in one of our events, fundraising or sharing information. Your support can help raise awareness of baby loss and the support available to bereaved families in the East Midlands.

Here are some ways you can get involved:

• Share something on social media – help raise awareness of Baby Loss Awareness Week and the support available to families affected by pregnancy and baby loss.
• Take part in Pink & Blue Day – dress in pink and blue, decorate your office or workplace, arrange a cake sale or light up your building in pink and blue.
• Join the Forever Stars 26-mile fundraising walk on Friday 9th October.
• Make a donation to Forever Stars
• Raise awareness at work with your team or employees. Download our employer toolkit to help with this if needed.
• Light a candle at 7pm on Thursday 15th October and join families across the UK and around the world in the Wave of Light.

The Wave of Light

Baby Loss Awareness Week ends with the Wave of Light at 7pm on 15th October.

Families, friends and supporters are invited to light a candle in remembrance of babies who have died during pregnancy, at birth or after birth. As candles are lit at 7pm in different time zones, a wave of light travels around the world.
