Members of the East Midlands construction community came together last week to take part in a second charity golf day for the property and construction sector at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club, raising more than £3,500 for charity.
Sponsored by local firms Fraser Brown Solicitors and construction consultancy Gleeds, the Construction and Property (CaPs) Golf Day raised funds for local charity Forever Stars; a charity that offers support and aims to improve care throughout the East Midlands for families affected by stillbirth and infant loss.
The annual event, which welcomed 84 players from the property and construction sector, saw 21 teams take on the Championship course at the club.
The winning team on the day was Pygott & Crone property agents who are based in Lincoln, London and Nottingham.
After the tournament, players enjoyed a much deserved BBQ on the terrace and took part in a raffle at the club house, where the winners of the nearest the pin, longest drive, beat the pro and putting competitions were also announced and presented with prizes.
John Tansur, Partner at Fraser Brown, said: “We are really pleased that the CaPs Golf Day was another huge success. After we had such a fantastic turnout last year we were keen to bring together the East Midlands construction community again for a fun day out and to raise funds for another worthy cause. I’d like to thank all of the businesses that turned out again to support our fundraising efforts for Forever Stars and all or our sponsors who helped make it such a fantastic day.”
David Ford, Director at Gleeds, added: “It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces at our annual charity event, a great day was had by all and we managed to smash our fundraising target for a second year running. I’d like to thank our clients and the regional organisations that attended and helped to make it a success. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and have planned a calendar of events over the next 12 months.”
The money raised from the event will be used by Forever Stars to go towards a number of its projects including sibling counselling, the creation of a Remembrance Garden and further bereavement suites where families can stay together and spend precious moments with their babies.
The event was sponsored by Castle Rock Brewery, Carlsberg, Influence, McLaren Group, Curtins, 200 Degrees, Coronato, Henry Bros, Simple Marketing, Pellacraft, Lymn Rose, Jennie Holland PR and Alea Casino.
