Forever Stars is an independent, volunteer-run charity that relies heavily on donations. The support from local organisations and businesses plays a vital role in helping us continue our work with baby loss families.
We value the relationships we build with our corporate supporters, ensuring they experience the various benefits that come with partnering with a charity. In this case study, we speak with Lane Castro and Esther Prasadam from Gateley, one of our incredible corporate supporters, to learn more about their ongoing partnership with Forever Stars.
How did your partnership with Forever Stars begin?
We were looking for a local charity to support, and one of our team members knew someone who had been in contact with Forever Stars and received their support. It made perfect sense to support a charity that had personally impacted one of our team.
Why Forever Stars?
Forever Stars stands out not only because they’re local but also because their work impacts so many people. We usually change our charity partner each year, but our relationship with Forever Stars has been so positive that we’ve decided to continue supporting them. The charity is excellent at assisting with our fundraising efforts and has also provided valuable information for our team about baby loss, including how to support family and friends who might have experienced baby or infant loss.
How have you supported the charity?
Our team has been involved in a variety of activities to support Forever Stars. We’ve participated in team volunteering days at the Serenity Garden and supported various Forever Stars fundraising events. We also have a dedicated JustGiving page for team members who want to do their own fundraising, and we run a tuck shop in our office where all profits are donated to Forever Stars.
How has supporting Forever Stars benefitted Gateley?
Supporting Forever Stars has created a safe space for our team, encouraging people to open up and share their own experiences of baby and infant loss. It’s also been fantastic for employee engagement, bringing our team closer together through shared purpose and meaningful activities.
What advice would you give to other organisations looking to establish similar partnerships?
We’d suggest choosing a charity that is willing to come in and talk to your team about their work. This really helps to get employees on board and build a stronger connection with the cause. We’d also recommend focusing on the people benefits – like employee engagement and creating a supportive environment – rather than just the corporate benefits.
