Jim Steel Garages Services of Beeston, Nottingham nominated baby loss charity, Forever Stars to be a beneficiary of the UK wide Masterserve Foundation.

Jim Steel Garage Services, a family run garage in Beeston since 1982, have always had a long standing philosophy of supporting the community, both in terms of events in the town and helping charitable causes where possible.

Sam Steel, Director of Jim Steel Garage Services, said ‘Forever Stars is a charity very local to us and we have been witness to some of the fantastic work they have done already and after meeting with Michelle and Richard, we just knew that we wanted to support their future projects as much as we possibly could. As a garage that likes to use reputable suppliers that have the same type of philosophy as ours, when we heard about the Masterserve Foundation, we immediately nominated Forever Stars.’

The Masterserve Foundation exists to raise charitable donations from members of the Masterserve Network by asking every member to donate 1% for every job a garage carries out, in turn the members can nominate charitable causes and the foundation will then distribute these donations to national and regional charities related to Social Aid and Development, and Healthcare. Over the two years the Masterserve Foundation Committee has raised over £100,000.00 for
good causes.

Jan Lord, Masterserve Foundation Committee Member, said ‘It fantastic that Jim Steel Garage Services took the opportunity to nominate Forever Stars to the foundation, as it is exactly the type of charity that we like to support. We do of course support larger national charities but it is so important to us as a foundation, that we get behind the smaller local charities that are making such a big impact on their communities. It was great to meet Michelle and Richard and present the charity with over £2,200 today and hear how it is going to benefit baby loss families in the future here in Nottingham.’

Forever Stars, a Nottingham-based baby loss charity set up by Chilwell couple Michelle and Richard Daniels, have been fundraising for baby loss family support in Nottingham since their daughter was stillborn in December 2013.They have so far funded the build of a bereavement suite at the Queen’s Medical Centre and are just about to complete a further suite at the City Hospital. They have also raised funds for bereaved siblings counselling as well as midwife training and support materials for bereaved families.

Richard Daniels, co-founder of Forever Stars, commented “This cheque will make a huge difference to our projects, the donation is the equivalent to funding a cold cot in the new bereavement suite at the City Hospital, it is fantastic to have support from local businesses like Jim Steel Garage Services, particularly for them to have thought about Forever Stars enough to make an application on our behalf to the Masterserve Foundation is amazing. It was lovely to speak to Sam and Jan about the projects we are planning and to hear how supportive they were.”
