Leah and Will’s Story

Hello, we’re Leah and Will!

We were connected with Forever Stars in 2023 after our son Henry was stillborn. We used the Serenity Suite and were so comforted by the private safety it gave us during the most difficult moments of our lives.

After some time passed, we decided we’d like to try to give back a little, and have since volunteered to help organise the charity’s involvement in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham, along with a few bake sales and small fundraising events.

We both feel so privileged to be able to give some of our time and energy to such a lovely charity, who give themselves endlessly to people like us who have been through the unthinkable.

Our daughter was 4 when her brother died, and when she attended a Clay Club session at the Serenity Centre with some other children who had been through the same, she spoke for the first time about her brother, and even used his name. The little peer community made a safe space for her to have a go at saying his name and see how it felt. I was moved to tears, and can only thank Forever Stars for their thoughtfulness in creating a space for children to air their grief in their own way.

Thank you Forever Stars.
