Sacha’s Story

I first became aware of Forever Stars through Facebook when it was first set up, and my husband and I made a donation to the charity in memory of our son, Mitchell.

Through our experience, I knew only too well what a difference the Serenity Suites would make to families of baby loss.

I followed Forever Stars and attended some of the events, watched how they grew and raised money for many different projects such as the Serenity Suites and Serenity Garden.

In 2020, I ran the Robin Hood Half Marathon for Forever Stars.

It is only recently that I have got more involved by holding a couple of events, helping at the annual Christmas Fair and Easter event, and my favourite was being part of a cheer group for last year’s Robin Hood Half Marathon.

By helping with events, I have started to get to know more of the volunteers, and they are the most welcoming, friendly and supportive group that I have ever known. It feels like being part of a family that you know is there for you.

I look forward to helping with more events and belonging to an amazing charity that provides so much to the families of the baby loss community.
