Providing a place to relax, reflect and remember
Our third major development project for baby loss families was the Serenity Garden.
So often families either have no grave to visit to remember their baby or it can be a traumatic experience to be at the graveside. We therefore decided approached Nottingham City Council to look at a plot of land where families can visit and feel less isolated following their loss.
The Serenity Garden currently has two sculptures within the grounds, these sculptures have been designed for petals to be added to them, when families wish to have a remembrance petal for their baby.
The Serenity Garden was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, David Trimble on July 2nd 2021.
Important Notice For Families & Friends
We Provide A Number Of Ways That Families Can Remember Their Baby.
No items such as flowers, vases, trinkets, balloons etc may be placed by or attached to the trees, benches or sculptures or be placed in any location within the Serenity Garden, Forever Stars and Nottingham City Council reserves the right to remove any unauthorised items without prior notice.
Forever Stars and Nottingham City Council reserves the right to refuse any names that are deemed to be unacceptable for display in a public place.
These rules are in place to ensure that we minimise the potential for damage and upset for families, we will always work with all families to ensure that the Serenity Garden is a place for all baby loss families.
Creating A Lasting Memorial...
Two Beautiful Sculptures Commissioned By Forever Stars And Designed By Nottingham Artist Rachel Carter
The two sculptures; the Fallen Acorn and the Forever Star will be a focal point for families as they will be able to add their baby's names and date of birth to the sculptures by requesting a petal from the charity.
These petals are added during a special 'Installation Days' at the garden, where families will be invited along to select where they would like their petal installing on the sculptures.
