Forever Stars is an independent, volunteer-run charity that relies heavily on donations. The support from local organisations like the Victoria Centre branch of Tesco plays a vital role in helping us continue our work with baby loss families.

In this case study, we spoke with Kirsty Pearson, who manages community support at the Victoria Centre Tesco, one of our amazing corporate supporters. Here, Kirsty shares more about how Tesco has been supporting Forever Stars.
How did your partnership with Forever Stars begin?
We first heard about Forever Stars when Julie, one of their amazing volunteers, visited our store and asked if we would be willing to provide Easter eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. We were happy to donate the eggs but felt that we could do even more to support this important cause. After learning more about the charity, we decided to organise an in-store bike ride to raise funds.
Why Forever Stars?
Forever Stars supports families at all stages of their baby loss journey, including those who lost their child decades ago. One of the most touching aspects of their work is the opportunity for families to remember their baby with a metal petal at the Serenity Garden in Highfields Park. The dedication and hands-on approach of the charity’s founder and volunteers is inspiring. They worked closely with us throughout our fundraising efforts, providing t-shirts and helping make the events as successful as possible. As I like to say, “The charity helps you, to help them.”
How have you supported the charity?
Our team at Tesco organised an in-store bike ride, where we “biked” from our store to the Forever Stars Serenity Garden at Highfields Park 13 times in total! It was a great team effort, and our customers got involved too. In addition, we’ve placed Forever Stars collection tins throughout the store to continue raising money year-round.
How has supporting Forever Stars benefitted Tesco Victoria Centre?
Our partnership with Forever Stars has given us a unique opportunity to support our community in a meaningful way. Not only has it boosted team morale and brought us closer as a store, but it’s also deepened our relationship with our customers. Many of them have been touched by the charity’s work, and it’s rewarding to know we’re helping such a vital cause.
What advice would you give to other organisations looking to establish similar partnerships?
I’d recommend choosing a charity that actively supports your fundraising efforts. It makes a real difference when the charity helps you to maximise your impact, which is exactly what Forever Stars does.
