Forever Stars receive The King's Award for Voluntary Service 2025

Recognised by The King

We were honoured to receive The King’s Award for Voluntary Service in November 2025 - the highest distinction for a voluntary organisation in the UK.

Widely regarded as the charitable equivalent of an MBE, this award recognises exceptional contributions made by volunteer-led groups and the profound impact they deliver within their communities.

Being selected for The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) is a tremendous honour and a meaningful milestone in our journey. It reflects not only the dedication of our volunteers and Trustees, but also the resilience and strength of the families we support. This achievement highlights the collective effort that has shaped Forever Stars since 2014, and we are immensely proud to be recognised alongside so many inspiring organisations across the country.

Thank you

The People Behind Our King's Award for Voluntary Service

Most importantly, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Forever Stars since our inception including our volunteers, Trustees, Patrons, supporters, and the families who have trusted us to walk alongside them. This award belongs to all of you. Your dedication has allowed us to continue creating spaces, services and support that honour every baby gone too soon and provide comfort to families at their most difficult moments.

From 2014 to 2025, we have been proud to raise more than £800,000 to support bereaved families across Nottinghamshire. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been able to fund a range of projects, including the development of dedicated Serenity Suites at both the Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital.

We also created and continue to maintain the Serenity Garden in Nottingham on Highfields Park, a peaceful place for remembrance, lovingly cared for by our amazing volunteers.

In 2024 alone, we delivered more than 50 well-being and mental health workshops, launched a dedicated support group for men affected by baby loss, and raised £50,000 towards the renovation and refurbishment of Ward A23 at the Queen’s Medical Centre.

Commenting on the charity’s King’s Award, Forever Stars’ Richard Daniels, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Forever Stars has been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This incredible recognition is a true testament to the hard work, compassion, and dedication of our volunteers, whose unwavering commitment has helped Forever Stars grow and make such a meaningful difference to baby loss families across Nottingham.”

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We couldn’t have done it without you.
