Tony and Amy’s Story

Our close friends, Daniel and Laura, got us involved with Forever Stars after their son Harrison was stillborn in 2016.

We started off just raising money for the charity by doing mud run challenges with other close friends – the girls did an X-Runner and the lads did a Tough Mudder. Then, for a couple of years, we did the Warrior Assault obstacle courses at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham.

Myself, Amy, Holly and Dexter then became more involved with volunteering, whether it’s selling raffle tickets, helping out at the Easter egg hunts, pulling weeds out at the Serenity Garden, cheering on the lads on the Forever Stars FC team, running the ‘Make Me an Offer’ stand at the Christmas Fair or Amy and Holly being elves at Santa’s grotto.

It’s a very enjoyable experience, and we have made some good friends in the process.

If giving up a little bit of our time helps just one person, then it’s all worthwhile.
